Am I shy?

I'm loud around people i feel comfortable around but im also loud around people who im not friends with.There are some people that im not loud around and that's because i don't feel comfortable around them. I'm not shy to answer questions in class its just that im normally day dreaming or i don't find the topic interesting or i might not be bothered to answer a question i can be really confident in certain situations when im good at something or i know my answer is right or I've practiced but when any of those things are the opposite im shy does this make a shy person? 

It doesn't sound to me like you're a shy person at all! If anything, you just know yourself very well. Like most people, how confident you are depends on how comfortable you are with the situation. There is nothing wrong with you!
